Abigail Weatherilt

Friday, 23 May 2014. Neutral with a slpash of colour. Having a play about with colour and pulling threads, playing around with proportions. Dividing the fabric up by pulling sections of threads out have really pushed the samples forward, it seems to create a movement within each piece and breaks up the structure of the fabric. I'm going to go back to my original embroidered fabrics and incorporate some f the stitched patterns into these samples. Design ideas from recent samples. Wednesday, 21 May 2014.

Monday, 12 May 2014. I've been looking at Polly Binn's work to inspire my own strip samples and the way she sections areas, adds blocks of colours and knots threads to create compositions. Abigail Weatherilt: March 2014

http://www.abigail-weatherilt.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Monday, 31 March 2014. Wat Pho. again. I can already see how I could translate this. Through fabric, as layers of cut out shapes. In varying weights of fabric. It's the colours that draw me to. Image, the neutral background. Combined with the greens and. Turquoises with a flash of. Florescent yellow to brighten. Definitely a possible colour palette. Images found on the internet). Wednesday, 19 March 2014. Wat Pho Temple, Bangkok, Thailand. (my own photographs). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Abigail Weatherilt: pulling threads.

http://www.abigail-weatherilt.blogspot.com/2014/05/pulling-threads.html

Friday, 16 May 2014. I've been busy pulling threads and dying my fabrics. These work really well along side the hand embroidered samples and i'd like to and subtle details of patterns into these as at the moment they don't look finished, but this is definitely a step in the right direction for moving my practice forward. Abigail Weatherilt: April 2014

http://www.abigail-weatherilt.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 30 April 2014. Experimenting with pattern. shape. colour. placement. Trying to use the negative spaces as part of the whole pattern by leaving larger spaces empty. Tried the stitch on white fabric. I definitely prefer the neutral colour. Wednesday, 23 April 2014. I constantly find my self being drawn to patterns in everyday life and seeing there potential as stitch. When I looked back through my Thailand photos it was this gate and the pattern with in its structure which caught my attention.

Bent Halos | Thoughts from the Everyday Angel

Thoughts from the Everyday Angel. November 21, 2005. At 3:46 am by abigail. Today hasn’t been so bad. My boyfriend and I are back together, even though I’m kinda unsure about it all. I don’t really understand why. Things just don’t seem to be going right between us. We spend more time fighting than we do with each other. It gets old, you know? Couldn’t ask for much better than that. :). Well, that’s about it. I have to go. I’ll write again later. Gnite. November 18, 2005. At 6:08 pm by abigail. Anything ...
